System aimed at improving patient care
The Air Methods Multi-Disciplinary Application (TAMMA) continues our heritage of quality and safety and is aimed to help improve the margin of safety as it relates to quality patient care. The internally developed system is exclusive to Air Methods’ family of air medical programs and is the first-ever issue management system in the air medical industry focused on patient quality improvement.
For program management, TAMMA helps communicate with flight crews by streamlining feedback regarding issues discovered on and off the mission. Additionally, it is an effective loop closure component designed to wrap around all communication. Comprised of eight modules, each TAMMA module has a data entry form, an administrative review section with full search capabilities, and a statistics section to allow program management to trend and work with percentages of compliance versus troubled areas.
The system also has robust statistic gathering ability to allow programs to set benchmarks, identify trends, and even develop research opportunities. Another valuable benefit of TAMMA is its ability to aid in accreditation and re-accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). CAMTS has expressed its support of the application and encourages its use.
