Our clinicians are trained and ready to provide critical care transport to your patients receiving Impella device therapy, intra-aortic balloon pump therapy (IABP), high-risk OB critical care, ECMO, as well as NICU/PICU transports.

Our commitment to deliver specialized critical care for patients to tertiary care facilities is our primary goal. Our aircraft is staffed with critical care flight nurses and flight paramedics who have undergone extensive training and displayed full competency in the care of patients needing specialized transport. Air Methods’ development and investment in safety programs, including IEP, FOQA, and FAA Recognized SMS, is unmatched in the air medical industry.

Air Methods was the first air medical provider to implement crash-resistant fuel systems on AS350 and EC130 aircraft.

Every Air Methods aircraft is fully equipped with advanced technology including NVIS (Night Vision Imaging System), HTAWS (Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning Systems), ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast), and XM/GPS satellite tracking

We are committed to providing our requestors with the most accurate ETE possible, so that you can focus on the patient, not when your transport will arrive.

Air medical transport ETE (Estimated Time Enroute) is a best estimate for when you can expect your transport to arrive. Receiving an ETE means that dispatch will add estimated lift time and flight time to give you a number of minutes that you can expect our aircraft to arrive. Only receiving part of this equation can lead to misleading transport timing.

Air Methods is one of the only air medical providers to train pilots on Level-D full-motion simulators that replicate an actual helicopter. Our pilots have completed nearly 500,000 take offs and landings on full-motion simulators.

Over the last few years, we have made significant investments to ensure patients are taken out of the middle.

Air Methods is an in-network provider with many insurance companies throughout the country, including Medicare and Medicaid. We are actively negotiating with others so that we can partner with as many insurance companies as possible.
