Isaac. Their visit on Sept. 26 began with an extensive tour of the New Braunfels fixed wing base, which opened at the end of 2023 to serve patients needing to travel further distances for definitive care and in a wider range of weather conditions. Crew members walked them through the inside of AirLift Texas’ airplane and the helicopters from AirLIFE in Uvalde and AirLift Texas in Waco. Together, these bases, form the ecosystem that ensures patients can be transported locally or across the state and beyond, depending on their medical needs. Additionally, Rep. Isaac and Director Brechot got an up-close look at the specialized emergency medical equipment inside each aircraft that makes rapid response and patient transport possible. The highlight of the day was a ride-along in the AirLIFE helicopter, giving both a unique perspective on the daily operations and the challenges faced by the crew in the air. “We were honored to host Rep. Isaac and Director Brochet and provide them with an inside look at how we deliver critical care in the air,” said Air Methods Account Executive Stephanie Estep. “Their visit highlights the importance of having both fixed-wing and helicopter capabilities strategically positioned in Central Texas, ensuring rapid access to emergency care for patients statewide.” This special visit underscores the importance of Air Methods’ integrated ecosystem in Texas, which strategically utilizes the fixed wing aircraft in New Braunfels and helicopters in Waco and Uvalde to cover a broad geographic area. This combination allows for swift and efficient transport of patients, ensuring that lifesaving care is delivered promptly regardless of the location or weather conditions. “Through this visit, we hope to have shown Rep. Isaac and Director Brechot the profound impact our teams have on Rep. Isaac’s constituents and surrounding communities,” said Eric Connor, clinical director at Air Methods. “We are grateful for their support and interest in our mission to save lives.” The crews from AirLift Texas and AirLIFE in Uvalde are highly trained professionals who administer the highest level of care during medical emergencies. Their presence in the region is crucial for rural and urban areas alike, offering rapid medical intervention that can make the difference between life and death. Air Methods is committed to providing air medical services to all members of the communities they serve and are in-network with most major health insurance providers for emergency air medical services.
